Regular refreshes are highly advised because race engines are subjected to significant forces. For various makes and specs, we will be able to let you know how frequently we advise using them.
The engine will be disassembled into its component parts as part of our refresh process. After that, each component will be examined to identify any worn-out or broken parts that need to be replaced prior to reassembly. The proper shells will be chosen and the crank will be plastic-gauged to confirm clearances. To allow for the correct break-in of new piston rings, cylinders will be sharpened.
Where necessary, valves will be lapped and valve seats will be refaced. Valve clearances will be inspected and, if necessary, re-shined.
With a warranty from Leon Jeacock, the cost of just labour for loose engine refresh is £899 plus parts (depending on your make and model).
